If you heard of the term CPA Marketing and didn’t know what it’s all about then you came to the right place. In this article, you will learn about CPA Marketing.
There are plenty of ways to monetize a website or traffic in general. You can try AdSense or other ad networks, affiliate marketing products for a commission or even sell your own products.
All of the ways above are great, but the chances of them to convert your traffic to buy what you want are very low. The same goes for AdSense and ad networks because of the low CPC (cost per click) rate.
So this is where CPA comes into the picture. CPA Marketing is one of the fastest ways to earn money online, without the initial investment.
In this article you are going to learn:
What is CPA Marketing and Why CPA?
CPA stands for Cost Per Action. CPA is a term under the affiliate marketing subject. CPA is quite simpler in contrast to other affiliate marketing options.
The CPA Marketing model requires the marketer to get his traffic to make a particular action on their end. Once this action has made, the marketer gets compensated for the amount of money that the offers usually pays.
For example, let’s say that an insurance company has their CPA offer. They want you the advertiser to get your traffic to sign up for their new program on their website. So everything they need to do is just sign up and leave their information (it could be anything like first/last name, phone number, zip number or more).
The reason that I am recommending on CPA marketing is simplicity. Think about it, you don’t have to get people to purchase a product so you will get your compensation. You just need to generate enough interest in them and then send them to the offer so they will complete your desired action.
The First reason is that CPA marketing offers more money than most of the monetization channels within digital marketing. (add infographic or something else).
The second reason is that by successfully implementing CPA offers on your site you are not messing up with your credibility and the professional look of your website.
Implementing CPA offers on your website can be done in such a great way. Inside most of your blog posts or product reviews. You could suggest online services and by that help your readers and still make money from that.
In my opinion, you should only recommend products and services that you have personal experience with. Don’t try to offer shady products or services just because they pay a huge commission to you. Your readers will notice if you will offer a product when you have zero experience using it.
How to Get Started with CPA Marketing?
There is plenty of ways to start CPA Marketing. But before we will jump straight into that let’s make some things clear first.
In order to see success with CPA Marketing, you will need to strategically plan every step you are going to take. What will be your niche? What type of offers are you going to pick up? Choosing your CPA Network. Where and how will you create your content? How are you going to get your offer in front of your ideal traffic?
In this article, you are going to get a clear view of the CPA Marketing world.
Find Your CPA Offer and Your Niche
First of all, in order to start planning your CPA Marketing venture then you are going to pick up your niche and your first offer.
When I say niche I am actually referring to a field of mutual interest between your traffic and you.
It is important to mention that the niche should also interest you. Because if you are doing something that you simply don’t like. It Makes you then to put less effort for the long run. Then when you are trying to promote these offers would make your conversion rate decrease. In my opinion, doing things only for the money will make your journey to make money a lot harder.
So now let’s find your CPA offer to promote. There’s a lot of ways to do that. My favorite is simply to go on OfferVault.com. Now once we know our niche and we have a resource to look for CPA offers to promote, let’s find some.
Simply use the search form and look for the offer within your niche. For example, let’s say that your niche is dating. This is a very broad niche and there are a lot of offers out there to promote.
After you typed “parenting” you will get these search results:
When looking for your offer you will need to know these common terms:
- CPL – Cost per Lead
- Lead – The desired action that your traffic needs to do. Usually, email submit.
- ….Only– limiting your traffic source to those they are listing.
- CPI– Cost per install, means you get paid when someone installs or downloads a link through your link.
- Publisher – The one who promotes the offer (you)
- Pay per call– You get paid after some has made a call after clicking your affiliate link.
- On Trial – when someone is signing up to a free or paid trial through your affiliate link.
- EPC – earnings per click, how much on average a publisher gets paid for every click on the link.
When picking up an offer you should check if the offer has some reviews on it and if the EPC is good. You must always check if you are qualified to run the offer because not all offers are available to everyone.
You should also check the traffic sources that you are allowed to send to the offer through and make sure to read the guidelines that every offer has.
After checking all that make sure not to forget to take a look at the offer’s landing page. It must be appealing. Think about it, if you send 1 million people to this landing page and it does not look good or even worse looks shady. Then no one would make the desired action and you will get zero money for that.
Join a CPA Marketing Network
Now after we picked up a nice-looking offer then it is time to join a network that runs the offer.
On most of the offers, you will see this little box that says “Join Network” so simply join this network by signing up and filling the correct information about you and your website.
Most of the CPA Networks will have some strict rules in order to apply. The reason for that is that they do not want to work with shady publishers that will send them bot traffic or traffic from countries they don’t desire. And they also want to see that the publisher has some prior experience with marketing.
Most of the time you will be able to sign up and get approved into the CPA Network. And even you won’t get approved then the reason for that could be one of these two:
- You don’t have a website to promote your offers on.
- You have a website but in their opinion is simply not enough to get accepted.
When facing this kind of experience, I would recommend the following steps. If you don’t have a website, then simply create your own website. It doesn’t have to be professional or any of that. After you built your website then try to apply to some other CPA Networks.
I preferably would recommend joining MaxBounty. MaxBounty, unlike other CPA Marketing Networks, has plenty of offers to promote from any type of niche.
The affiliate managers are great; they consistently send you emails with the type of offers that will suit your niche. And applying to MaxBounty isn’t difficult even though you need to show them your website and participate in a call interview that lasts for 3-5 minutes’ top.
After you created your website then simply go on MaxBounty.com and click sign up for publishers. Make sure to fill in the right information about yourself and about your website and phone number. Because they would make the interview call.
Start integrating your website with CPA Offers
By using the term “integrating” I mean start putting your affiliate links inside your website in a way that does not look desperately plain.
Make sure not to ruin your website by filling it up with popping up banners. Most of the banners are annoying because people desperately display them everywhere. This way of implementing CPA Offers is just horrible and the chances to succeed are extremely low.
So what should you do instead? It isn’t hard at all. Simply use contextual links or to send people to your affiliate links or just integrate those offers into your website design. What do I mean by that?
For example, one can write a long blog post about losing weight. In this blog post, he could list the top diet plans and programs that he founds useful and working. At the end of each recommendation, he could simply link to his affiliate link as a recommendation.
One of the websites that are mastering the integration of CPA offers into their website is dollarsprout.com
The great thing about their website is that in their niche which is personal finance they literally have plenty of offers available for them to apply on their website. And just by a quick tour on their website, you could notice how they are using integrated CPA Offers on their website.
Get traffic to your CPA offers
Getting traffic to your website and more importantly to your CPA offers is the most important phase. Because everyone can join a CPA Marketing network, pick up an offer, create a website around this particular niche and then get stuck. So how you don’t get stuck and manage to successfully drive traffic into your website and through your affiliate links?
1. SEO (search engine optimization): the best way to get the most laser-targeted traffic into your content is through search engines like Google. But how can you do that?
Ranking in Google is not a simple task at all, but in my opinion- in the long run, it might be the best one in terms of traffic and consistency.
In order to rank your content on search engines like Google, you will need to apply some SEO techniques into the process. First, when creating content for your offer, make sure to apply research around the topic. You should find keywords that are worth creating content around.
Try using the free keyword research tool ubersuggest.io by Neil Patel. Or purchase some credits in the notorious Keywords Everywhere tool which I highly recommend. I’ve been using it since the days that it used to be free. Now it has a paid plan that you purchase credits in exchange for a little sum of money.
When creating the content, try to use long-tail keywords, and focus on keywords that have something to do with your CPA offer and your website niche. After creating the content let it sink, Google may take their time but when they finally rank your article it would be worth it because it is free traffic.
2. PPC ads (paid per click): after creating great content that is SEO Optimized, make sure to apply this marketing channel – PPC Ads. Google, Bing, and Facebook offers great services in this field of advertisements.
This type of marketing channel does require money to invest in paid advertisements. Which if are done the right way, usually has positive ROI (return on investment).
In order to start funneling traffic into your website with PPC ads you are going to need to set up an advertiser account on the platform you want, I recommend using Google Ads simply because Google is the largest search engine in the world. But some may consider Bing ads because of the PPC low rates when compared to google.
After you set up your account, you will need to add funds to it and just start your first campaign or just set up payment information. In order to run a successful campaign, you will need to choose your targeted keywords carefully.
Some keywords may seem to have a low CPC rate and you may feel like promoting your offer through them. This is not a wise thing to do because most likely that those keywords aren’t relevant. So make sure to choose relevant keywords. You may choose KeywordsEverywhere or the Google Keyword Planner tool that you get with your new Google Ads account.
To use the Google Keywords Planner tool just login to your Google Ads account. Then press on tools in the menu. and choose the Keyword Planner.
When making your ad copy please make sure that your title is eye-catching, and gets right into the point. Because that is what differentiates you from your competition. Also, make sure to describe your article briefly in the short snippet.
3. Social Networks: building up social networks on platforms like Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest and YouTube could be a hard job to accomplish. You will need to build an audience, provide content, and to drive this audience back into your website and from there to your CPA offers. It could be a really tough task but you should consider that Social Networks skills are very important now-days and it could become one of your greatest assets in the future.
So consider building your brand on social networks, create pages or groups, add great content and the most important this is to deliver value to your readers.
Make Money with CPA Marketing
After we talked about what CPA Marketing is all about, and why you should enter this world. And we have learned what is the process to pick up a CPA Offer and a CPA Network. And we also learned about how to create valuable content around the CPA Offer and get people to read it.
Now it is the phase that you all waited for. It could have taken you 3 days or 3 months, it doesn’t matter as long as you arrived all the way here. After you have successfully managed to get people to read your content and you have sent them to your CPA offers its time to cash out.
On your CPA Network dashboard, you will have all of the insights about your earnings from commissions. Every other CPA network has its own minimum sum of money to be able to withdraw. Once you made it, you could choose one of the ways to cash out – it could be wire transfer to your bank, PayPal, check through the mail, etc.
I would recommend reflecting on your weekly earnings and analyze each and every step carefully. If you want to scale and believe me that you want, you will need to be able to know what is working for you and what is not.
If SEO works better than social media? Then you should invest your time into content creation around your CPA offers. That’s it, simply shut down what is not working (not right away, try seeing ways to make it work), dedicate your effort on what is currently working and just scale.
In order to succeed in the Digital Marketing world in general and in CPA Marketing you are going to need to leverage these two powerful concepts.
Tracking: you should always track the performance of your traffic’s behavior. For the simple reason that I have mentioned about scale. If you want to optimize your campaigns and start earning money without wasting your time for nothing. You should always consider tracking.
Building an Email-List
Not everyone knows about it but building an Email List is so much important. Consider this, you are running a successful PPC Campaign and people are reading your content. And then some of them do exactly what you’ve been wishing for- completing your CPA Offer goal. But then puff they are gone. And most likely- FOREVER.
I would suggest that instead of just sending them to the offer, try to offer them something for free first. It could be related to the topic, you could offer them a short e-book, a guide to (whatever your niche is). By offering them this incentive (a marketing term for a bribe), you are asking them to sign up for your newsletter and then they will gain access to the incentive through the mail.
By building up your email list you will be able to re-send your email list tons of other articles with new CPA Offers, or even better, send them right into your new CPA Offer (if the CPA offer allows this type of traffic).
This was a pretty intensive guide to the world of CPA Marketing. I truly dedicated my time and effort so you could enjoy this information to your own benefit.
